Prosody in Speech Language pathology
The course provide the students with deepened knowledge of prosody and how different forms of prosodic analysis may be used in research and clinical work with people with communicative disabilities, e.g. aphasia, dysarhtira, developmental language impairment and cerebral palsy. Lecturers during the course are, among others, Inger Moen from the University of Oslo who will lecture on Assessment and analysis of deviant prosody and on Foreign accent syndrome, and Vesna Stojanovic from university of Reading who will lecture on prosody in children with Williams syndrome. There will also be workshops/laboratories on use of instrumental acoustic methods for analysis as well as on analysis of interactional prosody. The course is on advanced level and comprises 7,5 credits. Dates: 100125-100129; seminars100211 and 100305.

Alternative Communication: Assessment, Intervention and Evaluation
The course provides the students with deepened knowledge on methods for assessment, intervention and evaluation within the area of alternative communication. The content comprises methods for assessment, intervention and evaluation within the area of alternative communication, communication studies from a biopsychosocial perspective: design of assistive technology and evidencebased methods for small hetereogenous groups. Apart from lecturers, there will also be seminars and literature studies. The course is examined by a thesis based on collected empiri and analysis. The course is given in collaboration with the Speech Language Pathology Programme and the Occupational Therapist Programme. International lecturer during the course is Professor Susan Balandin from the Molde University College, Norway who will lecture on recent research about assessment, intervention and evaluation within the area of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). The course is on advanced level and comprises 7,5 credits.
